We comply with:

EN ISO 14159

EN ISO 14159 specifies requirements for the hygienic design of machinery, which includes machine guards used in environments where preventing contamination is critical.

  • All components of NTF machine guards are free of sharp edges, crevices, and hard-to-clean areas. Joints and connections are smooth and sanitary.
  • Our guards’ design allow frequent washdowns and resist cleaning agents commonly used in food and pharma industries.
  • Stainless steel is a preferred material for hygienic environments due to its corrosion resistance and smooth surface, both of which align with EN ISO 14159’s requirements.

EN 1672-2S

EN 1672-2 is a European standard that specifies hygiene requirements for machinery used in the preparation and processing of food. It focuses on ensuring that equipment is designed to minimize contamination risks, facilitate cleaning, and meet the strict hygiene standards required in food production

  • All components of NTF machine guards are free of sharp edges, crevices, and hard-to-clean areas. Joints and connections are smooth and sanitary.
  • Our guards’ design allow frequent washdowns and resist cleaning agents commonly used in food and pharma industries.
  • Stainless steel is a preferred material for hygienic environments due to its corrosion resistance and smooth surface, both of which align with EN1672-2 requirements.

EHEDG

EHDG is an international organization dedicated to advancing hygienic design and engineering practices in the food, pharmaceutical, and related industries. The goal of EHEDG is to ensure safe food production by promoting the use of hygienically designed equipment and facilities.

  • We comply with Doc. 8 Hygienic design principles That outlines essential design criteria to prevent microbial contamination in food processing equipment.
  • We comply with Doc. 13 Hygienic Design Criteria for Equipment Used in Wet Cleaned Open Food-Processing Environments – principles for equipment in open processing areas that are subject to wet cleaning.
  • We comply with Doc. 58 Hygienic Design Risk Management – guidance on assessing and managing hygiene risks in the design of food-related buildings and equipment, focusing on both food safety and quality.

EN 1935:2004

EN 1935:2004 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. This standard ensures that such materials are safe, do not transfer harmful substances to food, and do not alter the composition, taste, or smell of food.

  • NTF Pure and NTF Process products comply with the standard’s load-bearing requirements, ensuring they are durable under frequent use in demanding industrial environments.
  • All NTF products are made in stainless steel and are corrosion resistant, suitable for cleaning agents and humid conditions.
  • NTF Pure and NTF Process products that are designed for environments requiring fire resistance (e.g., pharmaceutical labs), meet fire and smoke safety performance criteria.
  • All NTF products are made from non-toxic, food-safe, and easy-to-clean materials. All hinges have smooth finishes to prevent microbial growth and facilitate cleaning.

ANSI

ANSI serves as the U.S. representative to international organizations like ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), ensuring alignment with global standards.

  • We use smooth, non-porous, and food-safe materials that comply with both ANSI and FDA regulations for cleanability and safety.
  • We only use stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316, that meet ANSI’s specifications for corrosion resistance and non-toxicity
  • All guarding systems comply with ANSI standards for safety barriers, minimizing risks of accidents while maintaining accessibility for maintenance and cleaning.
  • All guarding systems follow ANSI guidelines for testing durability, load capacities, and safety features, particularly for hinges, fasteners, and other mechanical components.

FDA/USDA

The FDA and USDA play key roles in regulating hygiene and safety for products and environments in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Both organizations set strict guidelines for equipment used in food processing and pharmaceuticals to ensure hygiene and prevent contamination.

  • We comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 110/117 (Current Good Manufacturing Practices – cGMP)
  • We comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 211 (Pharmaceutical cGMP)
  • We comply with FDA CFR Title 21, ensuring all products are safe for direct contact and resistant to degradation from cleaning agents or food substances.
  • All our equipment support effective cleaning and sanitation protocols, reducing contamination risks.
  • All machine guarding equipment align with FDA’s Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) requirements by reducing the risk of physical, chemical, or biological contamination.
